Filtering water is a necessary and important process to obtain purified water. In this process, microorganisms and residues in the water are eliminated with the aim of achieving the highest possible purity and quality.
In order for quality drinking water to reach our taps, it goes through an important process known as water filtering. This process eliminates the solids and contaminating agents (viruses, parasites and bacteria) that the water has at its origin so that we can consume it without the risk of getting sick. Therefore, purified water has good health properties to the extent that it does not contain pathogens or harmful substances.
Filtered water is water that has been subjected to a purification process whose objective is to eliminate all contaminants and undesirable elements, both physical and chemical, that are present in its original composition.
This process is carried out using devices that have been exclusively designed to retain impurities, suspended particles, sediments, microorganisms and other potentially harmful chemicals.

Filtration systems can use different technologies, such as semipermeable membranes, activated carbon, ion exchange resins, among others to achieve selective separation that allows water purification.
One of the main advantages of water filter systems is that it tastes better than tap water. This is because filtered water does not contain chlorine or other chemicals that can make tap water taste bad. Additionally, filtered water usually contains minerals that give it a more refreshing taste.
Filtration acts as a physical and chemical barrier that retains all the unwanted elements that are present in the water, allowing it to flow through a filter medium and resulting in cleaner, transparent and better quality water. This resulting process is essential to transform water sources that may be contaminated or contain elements that affect their taste, smell and color into water suitable for human consumption and for various domestic and industrial uses.
¿Is filtered water healthy?
An intake of filtered water is considered a healthy choice. This is because filtration systems are designed to eliminate all types of contaminants as well as improve the quality of drinking water. The contaminants that we can find in water are; sediments, bacteria, viruses, chemicals and heavy metals that in high concentrations can even be harmful to human health.
By subjecting the water to a filtration process, the presence of unwanted substances is significantly reduced, which provides much safer and purified water for human consumption.
In addition, filtration can improve organoleptic properties of water, such as its taste, smell and appearance, making it more pleasant to drink and to use in the preparation of other foods and beverages. Therefore, it is vitally important to choose a filtration system that is suitable and meets the most specific needs of the home. By doing so, a constant supply of high-quality drinking water can be guaranteed, contributing to both the health and well-being of each inhabitant.
